Bashkortostan has taken part in the meeting of UNESCO committees in TURKSOY countries

The second gathering for the heads of the national UNESCO committees in TURKSOY countries has taken place in Kazan. Representatives of Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenia, the Turkish Republic the Northern Cyprus and Gagauzia (in the staff of Moldova) took part in it.

The first such meeting, organized jointly with the International Turk Culture Organization (TURKSOY) and the National UNESCO Commission in Turkey has taken place in October 2010 in Ankara. In the course of that gathering the national UNESCO committees were offered to make the national registers taking the UNESCO Convent-1972 about preservation of the world cultural and natural heritage and the UNESCO Convent-2003 about preservation of non-material cultural heritage into account. Such national registers will be included into the list of “UNESCO non-material cultural heritage” and into the list of the world cultural heritage.

In the course of the second gathering the representatives of UNESCO national committees were telling about preparation of their national registers. Besides, TURKSOY advanced the initiative to prepare the program “Live Bearers of Heritage”, where every country might introduce live bearers of cultural heritage to other countries for consideration of their experience and for cooperation in sphere of information exchange.

The delegation, headed by the deputy Minister of culture RB Ranis Altynbaev presented Republic of Bashkortostan at the gathering.

In the course of the gathering UNESCO recommended the representatives of TURKSOY countries to establish the so-called Heritage Fund. The Fund will cover the problems of material and non-material cultural heritage in TURKSOY countries. Besides, UNESCO recommended the countries to establish the special scholarships in sphere of science and culture.
