International jazz festival “Pink Panther” starts in Ufa
The annual XVI international jazz festival “Pink Panther” starts on April 14 at the Bashkir State Philharmonic Society by Khusain Akhmetov. In 2011 it is held under the patronage of the Presidential culture consultant Oleg Kireev and promises to become very interesting.
Thus, one of the most influential jazzmen in Russia Anatoly Kroll will play for the audience already today. At present time Anatoly Kroll is the art director of several big jazz festivals and constantly cooperates with Oleg Lundstrom’s and Butman’s bands and with the bands fr om Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Rostov and Ufa. The famous Russian jazzman will be accompanied by the Ufa jazz-quartet “Four Plus”, headed by the composer and saxophonist Oleg Kasimov. The quartet will play several compositions, written specially for “Pink Panther”.
The festival’s program also includes the shows of Eugene Grechishev’s trio (Moscow), the VIP-guest, the famous trumpet-player of the Lincoln-Center’s jazz orchestra, the winner of “Grammy-2007” Shone Jones, the jazz-quartet “Ufa” and presentation of a new jazz program “April” by Irina Austin.
The festival “Pink Panther” will be over on April 17 with the final gala-show, wh ere spectators may watch the performances of Marat Uldybaev (Thailand), Oleg Kireev (Ufa) and Rustem Galiullin (Thailand).
