Young Ufa writer Igor Saveliev will promote Russian literature in London

The young Ufa writer Igor Saveliev will take part in London book fair, which is to be held on April 11-16. For the first time Russia will be the honorable guest at the fair. Igor Saveliev is included in the staff of Russian delegation together with Alice Ganieva from Dagestan, Leo Oborin (Moscow), Andre Kuzechkin (Nizhniy Novgorod) and Paul Kostin (Volgograd). The director of the Russian literary award “Debut” and Booker laureate Olga Slavnikova will be the head of the delegation.
Igor Saveliev works at the news agency “Bashinform”. He has become known in wide public after publication of his first story “Pale City”, which was for the first time published by the Moscow journal “New World” in December 2004. Igor has written it when he was a 20-year-old student at the Bashkir State University. This story has reached the finals of several prestigious literary awards, including the all-Russian award “Debut” in 2004. In January 2010 his “Pale City” was published in Paris in French language as a separate book, what happened not too often. In 2011 Igor took part in the Days of Russian culture in France. Now he is invited to London.
Russian delegation will leave for the capital of the Great Britain on April 8.
