Ufa writer Igor Saveliev will participate in the Days of Russian culture in France

A young Ufa writer Igor Saveliev will take part in the Days of Russian culture, held in France near Paris at the end of January – the beginning of February 2011.
Four authors will present the delegation of young Russian writers: along with Igor Saveliev they are Alice Ganieva from Dagestan, Anna Lavrinenko (Moscow) and Michael Enotov (Kazan). The chief of “Debut” award and Booker laureate Olga Slavnikova will guide the delegation. On January 28 the writers will leave for Moscow and from there they will go to Paris to take part in the festival, in presentations o their own books, in meetings with readers and other cultural actions.
Igor Saveliev works in the news agency “Bashinform” and became well-known after publication of his story “Pale City” in the Moscow Journal “New World” in December 2004. Igor has written it, when he was a 20-year-old student. In January his “Pale City” (the subtitle “About hitch-hiking”) was published in French language in Paris by the publishing house “Lettres Russes” as a separate book.
The publishing house “Lettres Russes” is established in 1987 by the group of Slavic specialists, who watch the novelties of Russian literature and translate into French some of the texts, published on the pages of Russian literary journals. The translations are issued in the journal, published twice a year or as separate applications. The Igor Saveliev’s book is issued as an application to the journal and contains both French and Russian variants of the story.
