Sviridov’s Days in Bashkiria will continue during the whole month

The Traditional Sviridov’s Days start in Ufa on December 15 and in 2010 they are dated to the 95th anniversary of the composer – the last Russian classic of the XX century George Sviridov.

The concert of chorus music will open the festival. It will take place at the Ufa State Academy of Arts by Zagir Ismagilov.

The town of Birsk will take the baton the next day. Sviridov was in the army there during the Great Patriotic War. This period of his life is commemorated with the memorable plate in the town. One more concert of chorus music, played by the student’s choir of the Ufa State Academy of Arts, is scheduled there. For the first time the choir will play the chorus circle “The Wreath to Sviridov” by Roman Ledenev and the Sviridov’s poem “Ladoga”.

Further Ufa will again become the center of Sviridov’s Days. The concert of the State Academic Choir RB will take place in the Organ Hall of the Bashkir State Philharmonic Society on December 20 and the concert of Sviridov’s sacred music will take place in Shalyapin’s Hall on December 22, played by the chorus of the Ufa’s Cyril and Methodius Church.

Svirov’s Days start in 2010 and will be over only in 2011. The concert of chorus music within the frames of the Days of Slavic culture will take place in the town of Neftekamsk on January 9, played by the amateur sacred music choir “BLAGOVEST”.
