Ufa Eastern exit traffic increased by 25% during three weeks

On the Eastern exit, implemented as part of the national “Safe Quality Roads” project, traffic increased by 25% in three weeks. So, if in the period from April 1 to 7, more than 67.5 thousand cars drove along the new road, from April 8 to 14 - 72.7 thousand, then from April 15 to 21 - 84.3 thousand cars. About 12 thousand drivers use the Eastern exit every day.

“The largest number of cars is observed during morning and evening rush hours. The Eastern exit provides passage for about 2.3 thousand cars in one hour. At the same time, the capacity of the new exit is 6.5 thousand cars per hour,” said Alexander Klebanov, Minister of Transport and Road Facilities of the Republic.

Since the opening of the Eastern exit, more than 450 thousand cars have passed through it. On April 19, leaving the city at rush hour through the toll booth was difficult. To prevent such cases, a decision will be made soon to use transponders attached to cars' windshields and provide automatic payment for travel by debiting funds from the car owner's account.

“Construction of the Eastern exit has resumed thanks to the work carried out by the government of the Republic of Belarus and the Bashkir Concession Company. It was possible to breathe new life into the project after, in November 2019, the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov, and the Chairman of the Board of VTB Bank, Andrei Kostin, entered into an additional agreement providing for more favorable conditions for the region’s budget. Today, it is the largest infrastructure facility in Bashkortostan for many decades. Its cost exceeds 40 billion rubles. The eastern exit will facilitate more comfortable and faster movement of people,” the Ministry of Transport recalled.
